I'm still at the very beginning, but I'm already thrilled. One lesson in particular really opened my ears: Laura goes through a whole song from her career and explains the mix in great detail. I’m Laura Dre, a synthpop artist and solo producer. I started making music in 2004 with zero gear and absolutely no clue what I was doing.
I went on to earn a First-Class Honours BA in Music Production and released my debut album Moving Spaces on a budget setup, building everything myself from the ground up. And even after all of that, I was still broke.
That’s when I realised I couldn’t wait for permission or opportunities to appear. I ran crowdfunding campaigns, sold directly on Bandcamp, launched merch, and learned how to make the music support itself instead of constantly draining me.
